Nursing home praised for quality health care
A Gananoque company is being praised for delivering quality health care in a caring environment.
“Carveth Care Centre asked family members to tell us if they are satisfied with the care provided to residents in long-term care,” says Paula Lewis, Policy and Program Development for the accredited home. “The feedback was invaluable because it told us we are doing a good job.”
Home to 104 residents, the long-term care home is known for its quality health care, comfort and compassion. It conducted the survey in 2018 and released the results in early 2019.
One family told the owners, “It is the best place and home I have seen.”
Another family encouraged staff to, “Keep up the good work.”
The survey revealed:
- 97 per cent of families are satisfied with the level of care, feel welcome when they visit the home and like the care provided by the doctor.
- 91 per cent of families feel their loved one’s personal needs are being met daily.
- 93 per cent of families feel their loved one is treated with dignity and respect by staff.
- 97 per cent of families would recommend the home to others.
“We’re extremely pleased with these survey results,” says Paula who has worked at the home for 15 years. “It proves all of our hard work to provide the best health care to our residents is noticed and appreciated.
“The health care needs of Canada’s aging population are changing, and Carveth Care Centre is committed to staying current and relevant,” continues the friendly woman with a smile. “We value best practices and innovation. We hope to be a model of excellence for the country and the world.”
