Long-Term Care Room Types
Basic accommodation consists of shared rooms that meet all provincial standards for safety and comfort. Beds are separated by privacy curtains. Semi private rooms are shared by fewer residents and offer additional privacy while providing access to all long-term care services. Private rooms provide residents with their own personal space and private bathroom facilities. Preferred accommodation refers to semi private and private rooms. Preferred accommodation is subject to provincially regulated co-payment rates and availability at the time of admission.
Long-Term Care Services
Residents in long-term care receive comprehensive support and services, such as registered nurse on duty 24 hours a day, medication administration and supervision, assistance with personal care, mobility, and daily living, visiting physician and visiting medical advisor, physiotherapy services on site, pharmacy services, daily recreational and social programming, daily housekeeping services, and personal laundry services if desired.
